New Version of Mail2Joomla Released - Mail2Joomla 2.0

Good News! The Developers at Van Eldijk have released a new version of Mail2Joomla, their popular Joomla component for posting via e-mail in Joomla CMS:

The features include the ability to autopublish your e-mails immediately as Joomla articles whenever you send them.

One catch though, it's no longer free. They are selling the new version of this component for € 39 Euros (~ $53.14 US Dollars). I see this as a reasonable price for the new & improved component.

The only thing that bugs me is that they no longer have Mail2Joomla 1.0, the free version of Mail2Joomla, available for download from their website.

From their website, here is some more info on Mail2Joomla 2.0:

  • Read emails from your POP3, IMAP, POP3-SSL or IMAP-SSL email inbox and place them in Joomla! articles
  • Inline and attached images are also saved
  • Auto-publish your articles and place them on the frontpage
  • Allow only registered Joomla! users to send an email
For more info, check out the official Mail2Joomla website here:

how does one update your script auto-publish with this new version 2.0?

The auto-publish script that I posted was a modification of version 1.0.

The new version 2.0 has auto-publish included, whereas 1.0 did not. You can download Mail2Joomla 2.0 from the developer's website.

Just for the record... the've converted their licenses to GPLv3.
This means anyone who has it, can distribute it for free (providing they supply the source code too, etc...)

So if you want to try it out first, I'm pretty sure you'll find it on the web somewhere.

Obviously, if you like it and use it - it's only nice to pay for it. I'm pretty sure a paid version serves for better support ;)

Too bad the new m2j version is not working as it should. It installs fine and also start doing something. Unfortunately it it just emtptying 'your' mailbox and no articles are showing up. Up to now there's since the new version introduction not even a sight of a timetable for a solution other then "I am working on it". It is getting awfully silent. Better have the support part of the site checked, before using pay-pall as there's no refunding.
